An Unexpected trip to the ER

I saw Kyprian sleeping in his chair and thought "I'm sure I have picture of Emberly sleeping just like that. I should get another one."

Later on Mark and Emberly went outside to play. I had been keeping her in the house since she was sick, but because it was so nice out I thought it would be nice for her to get outside. I texted Mark and told him Emberly should come in soon to take a bath and get ready for bed. He said they were just a few blocks away. I thought that meant they were on their way home and started running bath water (and didn't hear my phone ring). Turns out Mark had her in the junky, but small packing, umbrella stroller and was running to the park so she could play for a little bit. As my phone rang for a second time, I answered it. On the other end was a panicked Mark telling me to come get them, in the background I could hear my sweet little girl screaming and crying. Mark said there was blood everywhere and we needed to go to the emergency room. I threw Kyprian in his carseat (hit the carseat on pretty much everything possible), got in the car and went to get them. I drove like a crazy person down Chicago, going way faster than I should have and passing cars in places I shouldn't have been. I have never been so thankful to live so close to Children's Hospital. Emberly was a rockstar in the Emergency Room. She got to watch a princess movie, play with princess toys, read a princess story and even got a wand to bring home. Kyprian did pretty amazing as well...since I woke him up from his nap to go. They had to reposition her front tooth. I was amazed at how well Emberly did. She is such an amazing and beautiful little girl. I can't say enough nice things about Children's either-when we left Emberly was already talking about the next time she could come back.
I was sad to see her favorite hoodie covered in blood. After asking for suggestions on how to get it out (and having plenty of testing area), I found that a combination of Murphy's Floor Oil Soap, Peroxide and spit got it out.
I saved the hoodie!!!

Emberly and Mom

I wanted to take some pictures with Emberly so when she grows up there are some of us together. You can tell she wasn't really thrilled with the idea.

HAHAHA-she thought she escaped the picture, but I got her in it!

Sleeping Kyprian

He just looks so sweet while he sleeps.

Doesn't matter where he sleeps...still looks adorable

Kyprian in the bouncy chair

Just hanging out in the bouncy chair again.
He's such a happy little guy!

story time!

Emberly really loves to be around Kyprian. She brought out all her library books, gave him some to hold and started reading some others to him.

another fun day at home

I went in to see what Emberly was up to, as it was quite quiet.
I found her feeding mo mo (her monkey)

Dad has all the great ideas-like putting your baby brother in the shopping cart and pushing him around the house. I'm sorry Kyprian...eventually you'll be too big and you'll be able to protest.

It appears as though both children enjoyed Daddy's crazy idea!

sleeping

I went in to check on Emberly before going to bed. All I could find was a pile of blankets at the end of her bed-she's in there somewhere.

Bathtime for Rubber Ducky

We figured it was time for Rubber Ducky to have a bath.
Emberly did a great job making sure her baby was clean.

Then she carefully wrapped her up and held her while she dried off.

But when Emberly was really all done, she left the baby in the tub with the wash cloth on it's face.

Kyprian enjoyed some time in his car seat.

Kids playing/Geocaching

Emberly loves to play with her brother. He doesn't always enjoy it, but she really loves to be right there with him....all the time.

We took Emberly on her first geocaching adventure. She thought it was great. We found this one along the parkway.
It was hiding in a tree stump. Emberly was excited when she discovered it!

Playing with toys

Taking Rubber Ducky for a ride down the drive way.
(Rubber Ducky is the name Emberly picked for her doll)

Taking over the toys-Emberly will tell you she's just testing them for her brother though.

Floating Boats

Emberly got this boat over the summer at VBC. She frequently asks if she can float her boat.
Usually we let her play in the bathroom sink, but today I filled the kitchen sink and let her play.
She's really good about keeping the water in the sink.
Today, however, she decided to wet her hair. At least she was honest when I asked her if she put water in her hair.

Bouncy Chair

'Holding on to my invisible safety bar'

'Now I have an invisible back pack'
Now I need another nap.

Dad and Kids

Kyprian gets a bath

Daddy is in charge of bath time. He does such a great job!

Daddy with the kids

Emberly thought she was being helpful by laying like this! HA!

Swimming!

Mommy and Emberly have really enjoyed their trips to the pool this summer before Kyprian was born. Ember was so excited when we got to go back. She loves to float in the pool.

She's getting really comfortable in the water.

Just chilling in the pool.

more naptime pictures

I think it's cute how she never wants to be apart from her brother.

He's quite the sleeper =)

I love the little rolls on his legs that he's getting already!
